Tom Mapplethorpe

Tom is the treasurer on the board of trustees and also supports engagement work.

Tom has a BSc in Psychology and Masters in Public Health, and is currently working towards professional registration at practitioner level with the Faculty of Public Health. He works as part of a public health team in a local authority, where his role is to help build healthier places and communities by addressing the wider determinants of health. He has previously worked across a whole range of public health themes, including substance misuse, mental health and healthy communities.

Tom is passionate about tackling inequalities and working collaboratively with local communities, to amplify their voices, insights and lived experiences, to enable and empower them to take action against their priorities and to build their assets, skills and resilience. He lives in Calderdale and, in the short periods of time when he's not working or studying, he loves to get out and about, bake, read and drink copious amounts of tea.
